Tomato not Hungry?

Hello all. 041009 i started setting up my 110 gal tank. I purchased my 1st fish (Tomato Clown) on 043009. LFS tested water and said it was good to go. Tomato Clown has not ate since I got him. Is it normal for a fish not to eat for 2 days? I am feeding or "trying" to feed him brine shrimp (what he ate at the LFS)
110 gallon glass tank
23 lb live rock
14 lb lava or lace rock (appx.)
120 lb live sand
Thanks

I cant get my clowns to eat either. IMO you might wanna get some more rock for your tank. Ive heard that most fish dont eat until they get settled into their new tank.

Well first...yes you definitely need more rock...minimum 1lb per gallon
The fish is probably stressed...is it alone? Any clean up crew? I don't see any powerheads for flow either....

Yeah, more rock is coming soon. What type of Clowns do you have? How long have you had them?

I have 4 false percs...2 in a 54g, and 2 in a 225g...I have never had a problem with them eating though..
What kind of rock?...is it cured? are you going to add it with the fish in there? What about a clean up crew? Got any?

I am really new to this so I am guessing that when you say powerhead you are speaking of the output of the pump...See pic. My LFS said I am ready for 1 fish. The Tomato Clown was his recommendation due to me wanting an aggressive tank and a Tomato Clown being hardy enough as a first fish instead of a Damsel.
I have a mixture of live rock that my LFS said is ready to go and I guess it is lava rock that my dad used 7-9 years ago for his saltwater tank. I will be adding more live and lava rock as time goes on.
No clean up crew yet. LFS said that I don't need yet.
WOW alot to learn huh?

This is what I mean by powerhead

Look up Koralia pumps...you will need a few for that tank...maybe 2 Koralia #3's
Do you have a protein skimmer? The rock of your fathers...is it in sw currently?
Again...Do you have any snails or anything else in that tank???
I think you should add all your rock and powerheads and get all your stuff before fish....

Go to the new hobbyist section and read the tips on top about starting a tank....ANOTHER THING...most (not all) LFS don't give good advice...sorry
Just do some reading on here....
You'll get a lot more input tomorrow
I'm going to bed...it's late and I don't want to think anymore....GOOD NIGHT...

I don't have a protein skimmer. Is it absolutely neccessary?
The rock that my father had was in a saltwater tank 7-9 years ago. Then is was placed in a bucket in my garage. I hosed down, soaked in hot water for a few hours, baked in the sun all day and place in my saltwater tank. The LFS said this was ok.
I don't have anything else in the tank.

You need some powerheads in there and a cleaner crew. Skimmer is a must IMO. Your fish is prolly stressed.
