Either we elect our first black president, which shows that we have moved on from slavery, perhaps one of the darkest hours in our history, or we have a woman holding the 2nd most powerful position in the country, which shows that we have progressed with women's right and that whole "glass ceiling" bidness.
I have to say.. I feel pretty honored to be a part of it.
Discuss.

It is pretty awesome. I just wish EVERYONE who can vote DOES vote!!!!
Let the numbers speak for themselves and that way there is no question who won.

Sadly that attitude among many people was lost the past 8 years.
I don't see it changing either direction.

I would feel soo much better if the women that might be the next VP of america was a respectable, soficticated, and educated women that could represent the USA in a positive way. But other then that tomorrow is going to be a very cool day!!!

I agree... she does lack a level of sofistication, which I think maybe her achilles heal...

Sophistication has never been a prerequisite for President. Both Carter and Clinton, for instance, were far from it. As is our current President.

I wish the individual vote DID count. It's the electoral vote. I am not stating that I am anti Bush, but if the individual vote counted Al Gore would be president.

So are we calling Obama, Black? He is as much Caucasian as African American is he not?

I guess I don't get that, I never hear Tiger Woods referred to as Asian and he is actually more Asian than African American.....Sorry, off topic.

skin color should not be the determining factor, however many people of the white populous seemed to be compelled to vote Obama or be called a "racist".
Personally I think we are screwed no matter which way it goes.
