blame the media for that one. The cowboys get more coverage then most teams. They have BIG name players. With this brings bigger expectations. They also like attention. Going back to Irvin, Sanders, to todays players, TO, Romo, and Pacman. If players talk trash they better win. That is the problem in dallas. Too much hollywood, not enough NFL.
umm, I Sanders sure. But I think there is little doubt the triplets were there to play football. Irvin I was on the fence about till I watching his HOF induction. Once he grew up a bit, he was a gamer, and if you think the 90's cowboys, Emmitt and Aikman were holywood. That was a no frills team. They handed the ball off 30 times a game. Aikman was not the flashy mobile qb. He was iceman, precision accurate throwing.
Today they are "flashy". And they aren't getting it done, and I tend to agree that is the problem with dallas today. And why they aren't 5-0. But do you really think the boys get more puff coverage than the pats over their recent run? Come on, most cowboys coverage, (minus when romo coverage when he came on the scene) is pretty negative.

The 90's cowboys help make them America's team. Today it is very hard to like dallas with players like Pacman and TO on TV every second. Plus Mr. Jones is about as likeable as Al Davis.
I like the Giants, a team which can fly under the radar. And when someone(burress) does something, he gets a fine/suspenion internally. Or they trade him (shockey)

umm they were called america's teams before the 90's. And the giants aren't flying under anyones radar. Shockey looks bad off the roids. You could look at it as the cowboys give everyone a second chance... lol.
IMO this plays into Jones's ultimate plan. It is a marketing game. The more the cowboys have the circus around them the more $$ he makes. I have no real problems except he couldn't burry the hatchet with Jimmy johnson. I think that cost him several more super bowls. Personally I'd rather have him, than say the ownership of the lions. I couldn't care less how much he is hated as long as they win. Personally I look at it as a badge of honor. People hate other peoples success. Look at steinbrenner... I may hate the guy, but the rings he has...

unfortunately for the cowboys giants have active players with rings, the cowboy players with rings are on tv as announcers and field corespondence people. the current team gets hipped up but doesnt perform when they have to.

Jones has been very successful as an owner. Love him or hate him. (personally I fall under love hate.) yeah over the past few years they've been bad. I don't think the giants have 5 rings and have been to 8 superbowls...

To further touch on that, until last year, the giants hadn't even sniffed a superbowl since the 1980s. How long is that?

Not what he meant, but nice try though. The Giants only play 6 divisional games. So if he meant 8-0 in the division, then I will take that bet as well, since the giants only play each team in the division twice during the season.

They did beat the bills on the missed field goal in the early 90's. It might have been 90. Don't get me wrong, the giants have a good program. There are some elite teams in the nfl. The steelers, NE, SF, GB,(to a point) and the Cowboys. no others come close, considering the superbowl era.

Oh yeah, that was 1990....hmmm...17 years of sniffing though is a longtime. Dallas hasn't quite reached that long of a drought.

Don't get me wrong, but the 90's cowboys did separate them from a crowded tier of teams, to be the team in the nfl.

You mistyped, it was the 70's Cowboys.
I didnt mistype. They DID help make them america's team. They may have been america's team with some, but the 90's cowboys helped as well.

oh yeah i cant count. Or i forgot they only have 4 teams now.

86, 90, got killed in 2000 (i think 2000)

Yep, cant argue with that, expect GB needs to be dropped from that.

Well SF only has the 80's. And in my head I like GB as an elite team, because well, the friggen trophy is named after their coach. And their history immidiately before the super bowls. They get an pass. The 90's helped, but they were americas team after the 70's.

What in the world are we talking about? Elite teams of the 90's? There were really only three. The Bills in the early 90's in the AFC (say what you might, but there was never a more potent offensive ever assembled then the 90's Bills offensive), the Broncos in the late 90's and the Cowboys throughout. That was it pretty much till the Patriots rose up (as much as that pains me to say). But now more or less the NFL is wide open.
The Giants went to Superbowl 35 (2001), and got beat by the Baltimore Ravens.

nope, didnt miss that. What do you want me to say? I wont bring up any current dallas streaks. We all get reminded of it way too much. Again, too much coverage and expectations for dallas.
who gets more coverage. Dallas or brett farve?

Seriously do you really think the cowboys has more puff coverage than the Pats during their run, (the only reason they aren't being blasted every day now is that the guy who the espn commentators want to have a love child with has a blown out knee). Most cowboys coverage is pretty negative.
The cowboys are 4-2, there is no reason to write them off, and the espn commenators were calling the trade, last ditch, desparate, all the eggs in the 2008 basket. Going to cause problems, to many stars.
You have espn trying to gin up "crisis" with salaciously describing packman jones (there are way to many jones and williams on this dang team) as the cowboys best DB. It is just funny.
