Then why is it that people routinely give away xenia, gsp, etc even throw them away and still charge $50 a head for their acans out of the same tank? That's not trying to save the reefs, that's trying to make money. Me personally I buy what I like and let it grow, if it gets out of control I frag off and sell for cheap to people that are just starting out, I don't change my prices based on what it is, if it's grown enough that I need some out of the tank I've got my money's worth. I give away twice what I sell, but I'm like that with most everything, if I don't need it get it out of here! Keeps the clutter down.

Amazing colors! Envied by all!
As to the selling issue, GSP and Xenia grow like weeds, so of course people give them away. Acans, micros, and rare ricordias, dont grow as fast, the colors are very difficult to duplicate, and they were likely expensive when first purchased. To me that all justifies the price. Its not that important to me, so I wont spend that much. But to some, it is. Let them, and I will give them props for having such amazing corals.

yea acans cost alot. I use to pay ALOT..I paid $80 per head for one of them. When I took the tank down i sold them for what i paid but they where actually grown with more heads by then so the buyers got a better deal then i did.

Yep acans and micros are expensive. When i do frag them i usually sell them for half what i paid for per polyp. And yes the colors are amazing on them.

Oh that last pic of the red zoanthid really does glow in person. It shines really bright. I wish you guys can see it in person.

lol. i believe that one belongs to me now.

here it is in my tank

and hypertek, just an FYI, marcos rock is base rock, but it still needs to be cured. theres so much dried sponge/other stuff on that rock, it can and will give you an ammonia spike. it actually takes a long time to cure. i dont want you killing any of those micros.
