I had some zoo's and paly's shipped to me today and the stupid post office decided instead of driving them dirctly to my house they just gave them to my normal letter carrier. Well they got to me at about 67-68 degrees. They are all closed up and smell a little funky, but not too bad. So what do you guys think will they live or die. They were shipped overnight, but had a very small amount of water and the styrofoam was very thin about 1/4" thick. I am slowly drip acclimating them and will take my time about an hour or so. Well I hope they live. We'll see.

Only way to tell is to wait and see. I had some zoas shipped and usps put them in my mail box and they cooked in the FL sun. Within a day they had detached from the rock and are nowhere to be seen.

Beleive it or not as I was acclimating them they started to open and most are opened up now. Only 2 hours after delivery so I think they will be ok.
Thanks.

corals can ghandle low temps far better than they can high temps. 68 no biggie, 88 would worry me more...

I had some zoos shipped to me recently that were lost in the mail, (YEA USPS) for 7 1/2 days. They, after about 3-4 days in my tank, are open and looking GREAT! They are hardier than we give them credit for!

I know they are hardier than we give them credit for, but when I grabbed them ot of the box and felt how cold they were I got a little bit nervous. I'll tell you guys and gals that they are all opened up and beautiful. I can not beleive that it rally did not seem to harm them at all. Well thank you all for your help and advice. Hopefully they will grow well and I will soon be selling a few frags on here. You guys will love them.

I on the other hand have received two shipments of zoos from someone on the boards. the first one was very nice frag, unfortunately it was 3 days shipping from florida and all but three melted off the rock. i've received a replacement shipment next day, and the water was really cold, about 50 degs if not lower, and so far only about 10 have opened but the rest of the colony isn't melting so i'm hopeful.

IMO corals seem to do better if the temps drop and they get cold rather than go up past their normal limits and it's too hot that's when most corals bail.
