Too many crabs?

I have a 40 gal tank, LS & LR. When I got the tank it only had 3 or 4 bluelegs in there. I just bought 10 blueleg, 10 hawaiin zebra, 10 scarlet and 5 peppermint shrimp from this site. Am I overdoing it?

I personally stay away from having very many crabs and keep mostly snails, but I think you have way too many. I think they are going to start killing each other for shells. Putting extra shells in the tank might help some, but with that many it still might occur.

I herd that scarlets are evil, not blue legs

Lionfish ... The blue legs have a "mild" temper ... The scarletts are peaceful as heck ... Blue legs are a little more aggressive in finding new shells and eating before the scarlets. Go with scarlets it your going to get any :)

Mild?? Everytime I looked in my tank they were either fighting with each other, harassing a scarlet, or eating one of my snails. They're mean, if you ask me...
