While Gypsy is a term that refers to the Roma people, gypsy spelled with a small "g" refers more to someone who moves around a lot, a person that does not necessarily follow the norms of society. Its not necessarily used to derogatorily refer to an ethnic group, race, culture of people.
For instance, the word idiot is in the title of this topic. Now everyone here knows that traveler is in no way referring to mentally handicapped people, yet 100 years ago, the term was commonly used, in medical terms no less, to refer to mentally handicapped persons. Asylums even were even named such. Not too long ago the term mentally challenge was thought to be the best term. That too is now evolving in to an inappropriate term.
To look at the other side of the coin, not every word has only one meaning. You have to look at the context. In Spanish the word for black color is negro....should they change the word because some people feel it refers to a race and prefer not to use that word when it applies to their race?
Context is everything.

gypsy is quite a derogatory term for the roma. we seem to get away with it a lot in north america where there arent roma who would tune you royal for saying it not to mention reinforcing stereotypes. there are roma that are too poor to live up the the standards you would like them to but this is true with a percentage of any population. im the last person to give credence to political correctness but out of basic respect there are things you simply dont call blacks, gays, handicapped, women, whatever. its no different with the roma.

1) We got a call at 6 PM yesterday from a tenant screaming that there was a trashbag in the hallway and there were cockraoches coming out of it.
2) My dad + sister went on scene... they said that I misheard earlier.. and that it was a giant trash bag... not box... and there were easily 100,000 cockraoaches in it.
3) The coackroaches were around 2.5" long
4) The exterminator came in today and cost us $300.
5) Luckily, everything is settled.
And, Beth, that video made me want to throw up.. Lol

So... the tenant that was screaming was the one taking out her trash when she noticed a roach crawling up her arm and started screaming. She dropped the trash bag in the hallway without taking it out to the dumpster, and then someone called the landlord.

Wow. Can't believe we have been talking about this for 2 days, and it ends up that someone forgot the trash they left in the hallway and roaches took over.
Pretty hard to believe that so many roaches would take over a trash bag that had been left there for a relatively short time.
Something fishy going on here. Those roaches had to already be in that apt complex anyway.
Case closed.

Why I am getting out of the businees. Started out with almost 90 units 3 years ago. Now 2 complexes sold with one ion contract. I am owed about $10,000 in back rent damages and court costs.
I would get another visit from the exterminator in a few weeks. We had a tenant buy an infected TV. Never had a roach problem until then. They were coming out like that movie "Creep Show".
