Too much flow??

I have a tunover rate in my tank at about 39 times in an hour is this too much???

what size of tank and return pump do you have . . . . ?????

That may be a little extreme. If the magority of the water flow is from the return pump you could tone it down with a ball valve.

no return pump i have 3 powerheads a penguin bio wheel 330 and a cpr bakpak 2r... 2 maxi jet 600's rated at 160 and a maxi jet 1200 rated at 295 ..

If you put a ball valve on a return pump will it damage your pump? A mag drive specifically.

I have one on my mag turned about a quarter closed and no trouble in 9 months .
