Too much Light Burn Corals?

My light has been broken since last friday, thats over a week, I improvised and used my T5 75 watt sump light on my Main tank in the meantime, but the new like arrives today and I was wondering. Adfter my corals becoming accustomed to virtually no light if i suddenly turn on my new 600watt fixture are they going to get shocked or burned or bleached or something else i dont know about? thanks

ive heard to gradually acusstome them to the new light. so as to not shock them.
ive heard you can by some screen in a roll, the kind that goes on your storm door or screen for your windows. put a couple of layers on top of your tank. start where you think the light is at now and then gradually day by day pull a layer off until you are just running your light full on.
this is what i plan to do this week as my new metal halides are coming in and ill be switching from PC.
