I have a 55 gallon with 260 compact and I found a light at my store (48 inch) and it was :
Total output 717W:
3x double ended 175W HQI bulb
2x compact fluorescent 96W bulb actinic blue
4x plug in bluemoon LED
That comes out to 13 watts per gallon!!!!
Is that crazy?
Am I going to do more damage that good? I
f so why would they sell something like that?
Thanks

that isnt bad at all for a higher lighting coral tank like sps. and you still wouldnt be able to place thigns like acros at the bottom.

it would be silly to buy that much lighting, most of it would go to waste and you risk burning your corals; just go with a less watt fixture because that much isn't needed
