i would go ahead and dip it. the bugs we're talking about are really small. do a dip and rinse it off with some clean saltwater then throw it back in the tank and leave it alone for a couple of days

thanks everyone, but i dont think they are going to make it. They have practically dissapeared, i can only see about 2 small closed polyps now

I found the problem! i bought another small frag of zoos a couple days ago and placed them near to where the old ones were. Even though i did a dip on them (revive), 2 days later some of the zoos were closed and i saw 2 or 3 small like bugs on them (one species looked like a longer like amphipod, and the other looked like a small worm). What can i do to stop these bugs from irritating my zoos even though i have done dips??

if theres both an amphipod and a small worm, that would indicate that they are only cleaning up something dying. if it was just amphipods causing it to die, then you have a species of predatory amphipods. at this point the only option would be to interceptor the whole tank, but im pretty sure you're not wanting to do that.
i treated my system for another reason and everything turned out fine. after my treatment though, i didnt see the amphipods that once use to nip at my zoas before hand. other amphipods have bounced back

i don't know what interceptor the whole tank means, but i have a feeling it means taking everything out and not having a fun time. What treatment did u do nike? Did amphipods bother your zoas? do they only bother zoos? sorry for all the questions i just get frustrated when i cant get corals to open.

interceptor is a drug that kills crustaceans. you would have to buy it from a vet because its for dogs also. it doesnt affect anything else but crustaceans. so hermit crabs, shrimps, etc will die if theyre not taken out. but i wouldnt jump to that option right away. give them 2-3 days and see what happens. if theyre not melting, then i wouldnt worry about it

today they look alot worse. two polyps that were clearly open yesterday look like they are never going to open again. they are all staring to look like they are melting... the only thing i can think of is either the pods are actually eating them, or they are eating the dead polyps because i had a temperature of 84 (too high?) for a week. i slowly lowered the temperature within 2 days.

yup, i bought a new eheim jager heater and was having problems calibrating the right temperature. its been on 80 for the past 2 days. haha professor. i wonder if the 84 has to do with the melting
