Too much water movement?

I am currently cycling my 29G and trying to seed the LS with critters. There are currently 2 PHs (600 & 1200 Maxi-Jets) running and they are really moving things around. This is going to be a mini-reef with maybe 4" of fish, plus a clean-up crew, and mostly corals.
Should I switch the 1200 out and run two 600s? I don't want the tank to become a whirlpool when I start to add things.

When I said I added "critters", I meant that I added some crud from a LFS' LR cycling tank. I wanted to seed the LS with some bug, worms, pods, etc.
I knew about the inverts. But will that stuff not make it through the cycle?
