What kind of powerheads are you using in the 2 back corners?? I am looking at upgrading my 46 bowfront from a FOWLR to a REEF and i am looking at powerhead options. What kind of filtration are you doing also??
By the way, tank looks awsome. :cheer:

Great looking tank!! Hopefully my 46 will look like that when I'm done.
kjord97- In my 46 I use an acqa c remora protien skimmer for filtration, 3 maxijet 1200's at the top for surface aggitation with a hydroflo on the middle one, and a maxijet 900 on the bottom so the detrius doesn't settle on the bottom. HTH.

For all that asked....
The tank is a 46 gallon bowfront tank.
Tidepool 600gph overflow.
30 gallon acrylic sump with a coralife super skimmer/ph probe and heater. Cheato is my main filtration along with my skimmer!
I am running a 500gph return pump into the tank.
The powerheads are SEIO's upper left is a 600 or so gph and the right one is I think around 1100? I forget.LOL
The lighting is a coralife fixture with two 150w HQI 14,000k phoenix bulbs in it.
I also run a 96 watt current brand actinic bulb over the tank for extra flouresence. The actinic was off however at time of the shots. If not the tank is way to blue in the photos. The photo's were shot with just the halides on as you can see them shimmering in some of the photos...
I feed every other day a variety of things from frozen home made foods to flakes at times.
I top this tank off with a float switch that powers an aqua medic dosing pump from a 5 gallon resevior of kalk water.
My tank specs are as follows.
PH 8.1
Alk 7
Calc 470
Mag 1100
Nitrates and nitrites 0
phosphate undetectable
Hope that helps those who are curious.
Thanks for the compliments and reef on'

In your second post, 3rd one down, that frag that looks like a bubble, can you tell me what it is, I have one growing next to my bubble, but doesn't really look like a bubble :notsure: Looks sorta like your pic. Nice looking tank you got there, good luck with it
I have family in Barto, I think that is near you correct?

Hi Spankey,
WOW...your tank really looks great!!
I noticed that in some of your shots you have some really tiny SPS frags on disks, and I was wondering, do they grow pretty fast? I'm just beginning to think that I would like to transition to SPS corals since I have the lighting and my tank is very well established. I'm just wondering how fast they tend to grow?
Thank you!! and again, WOW...

As for the third pic its a blasto coral.
Monalisa They do grow quick if the lights and the parameters are right on. Some of my acros are now starting to double in size in a month and a half. However I have one coral a Blue tort that grows at a snails pace. I think they are all different with growth and what not.
Thanks for the compliments, just wanted to share not brag...
