Top Off Tanks

I was going to use a 10 gallon tank for my top off tank but it won't fit in my stand with the way my plumbing is run. So I was wondering what some of you DIYers have used for top off tanks.

i use a 13 gal trashcan ( the tall skinny one) it fits perfectly in place... it last my tank about 4 days .. it tops of via a toms aqualifter pump on a programable timer.. ( come on 2x a day 12 hr apart)... just look around at the local stores for plastic containers that are food grade... (ohh and check to make sure that the thing dont collaps on it's own under water pressure)

hmm, I usually just use a piece of egg crate and fit in a float valve, then silicone the egg crate to the sides of the aquarium and adjust the float valve accordingly.
