i understand how much and how often... my routine has been every sunday and one gallon
but....
with all the specification and requirements of the saltwater world i was wondering, if i buy 5 gallons of ro water from my lfs and i use it 1 gal a week for 5 weeks....is there anything i need to be doing to it.... refrigeration, aerating, heating???? or does this water stay "good" for 5 weeks at a time???? my lfs owner says yes but what do you guys think??

I'm not sure what everyone else thinks, but when I keep my RO/DI in storage i don't heat it or aerate it or circulate it. I just make sure the container is tightly sealed when not in use.

I usually keep mine sealed but with some sort of water motion ... to keep it somewhat heated and aireated ... but the key is sealed and no light therefore no contamination!

It's fine to keep it for extended periods. The fungus that often grows in RO water is quickly killed by adding it to saltwater. The main thing is that not heavy metals, nitrate, or phosphate can get into a sealed container of RO water. RO/DI would be beter then RO water for most people though :)
