Torch coral

i am looking at getting one from this website and it says strong lighting and difficult but ill tell you what i have and you can tell me if it is ok for me ornot.
-192 watts of coral life lighting
-40 gal tank
-established for 3 months
-other specimins
-false perc
-six line
zoo's and shrooms
will the torch sting the other corals and how far should i put them aways from my others?and does it come in other colors than purple? like green or white w/ pink tips?

torch, hammer, and frogspawn all have mad sweeper tentacles. keep them pretty far away from everythng besdies the mentioned 3. ur setup sounds ok to me

so it wont sting the zoos and shrooms? you mentioned three corals. i am relitively farmiliar with them but is one better for me in my case than the other?

They will sting every coral, zoo, ric, etc. I can't think of any coral that can take being around it. They also sting humans as my hand and wrist can attest, and it is not pleasant at all.
Also, you really don't have enough light.

I have two green tourch, one is in a 100 gal that original had 192w pc and growth was good. I add 2 x 250mh and it has been doing great. Recently I set up a 37 gal with 110w pc and added a green tourch and it has been doing great also. Also as Beth stated they will sting any coral close to them, I lost a beautiful yellow leather that I placed too close to it.

I just added a HUGE torch to my tank and learned teh hard way from the start. It stung my ricordea right in half. Last night I moved it far away from anything else I hope. I guess I will find out today.
