I just got my Torch on tuesday and its already dead or dieng. What is the problem? If you look at the one pictures the little green things on the sand are broken off tenticles.

How does the water test? What's your specific gravity? What kind of light? How did you acclimate? Did the torch look healthy at the store?

$20 isn't bad. You're loss could have been a lot worse.

Yes. Its also the fact that now all the green things are all around my tank. AND its 20 yea but I would rather have it alive. Should I throw it away?

I don't know enough to be able to say if it's going to be a danger to anything else or if there's a chance it could recover.

Save the stem in the corner somewhere. I had one that I tought had died after a tank move to our new home.. A month or so latter here he is sprouting out of what I thought was a dead stem... Good Luck!!

$20 is nothing man, In fact thats a great price. The temp here in buffalo had been 90 degrees or more for a week strait, put major stress on my stuff, My temp in the tank was 87 and my Pink hammer which i paid $45 for lost 2 of its 4 heads in the heatwave.
But ya know sometimes they just dont take even though u do everything right so, try try again.

I'd give it time. You never know what may happen, just keep testing the water for any spikes. And $20 isn't bad at all, try loosing a $85 goniapora.

just make sure the brown jelly the torch releases when its dying doesnt get on other corals or it will kill them as well.. i learbed the hard way.. and if you have a piece thats still alive frag it now or it will spread to the other piece quickly killing it as well..
