Well traded my fish in to the lfs today. Going to finish taking down my tank later today. Sad to see my favorite fish go, and even worse to see the lfs handle my fish and start acclimating them. They poured them from my 5g buckets to theirs. I had to keep my opinioin to my self, and it was hard to see them be so "rough" I guess with the fish. I think it's just me being parainiod though. Then they started to acclimate them by pouring a cup full of water into the buckets (quite rapidly unfortunatly). Anyways it's just sad to see them treated with less care then what I'd expect most hobbyists to treat them.
Hopefuly they survive all this so I can get store credit (they got a 48 hour policy). Anyways going to be selling everything but my MH's, rock, and sand. Hopefully in a couple months I'll be getting a 120g or 150g at my mom's so that I'll be able to take care of it more opposed to having to drive out to my dad's house every other day to fed my fish. I'm not going to say quite yet what I plan to do with my 150/120g because I have a curse of making all these plans and them not going through, espically after I make a thread about them. Anyways just letting everyone know that I'm out of the hobby momentarily. I'll still be on here plenty though and learning and planning my next big adventure.

I wouldve said something to them about being rough, especially since whether or not you get store credit depends on the survival of the fish. Doesnt make sense to me that if they kill your fish, you get nothing.

I'm more worried about the fish making instead of money (because I dont expect more than 100$ for all those fish) but it was hard for me not to say something. When I was moving and trying to get everybody out of there my sailfin got nasty scrathes on one side, broke my heart. Poor guys, hope they find a happy home.

If you're west of the city I'd recommend Reef Shop Warehouse (it's where I traded them in at, best out of the lfs's here)
If you're north then Jossete's Pets
If you're East or South then I highly recommend Wet Pets by Steve

Yeah I wish I did. Nothing I can do about it now.
Saying something might have made you feel better, but you would have potentially been taking your fish back home. They deal w/ fish everyday and they always think they are doing you a favor by taking them off your hands, and sometimes they are, but they could have easily said, "Look if you don't like how we do it, take them elsewhere"... And sometimes that's not all to convenient.
So hopefully they were healthy enough under your care that they can handle a little stress.
Good luck.
Breaking down a tank and starting over sucks. I got lucky, all my stuff went to local hobbiests.

I tried to sell some fish once, too much hasle, wasn't enough co-operation. And this week was the only week for another 3 weeks for this to happen, so I decided to take the risk and go for it.

Why did you take the tank down?
My dad had to take a job as a traveling tech instead of staying local, so he's in New Mexico right now. My aquarium was at his house and it was hard for me to take care of it besides feeding it every other day.
