I have a 265 gal Oceanic tank not RR, I do have a double overflow box for it which is hard to find I might add, or you can have this one drilled to your specs if you want I wasnt going to because the overflow i was told is rated for 300 gal tank. I would like to fill up a 220 gal reef tank with different types of corals est $800 worth. let me know what you have. I dont care if they are frags or full pieces, soft or hard I just want a beautiful tank. As you can tell by the last pic it needs alot of help and alot of color. I will deliver within reason to the northeast. NY, PA, MA, parts of OH ect.. if I cant make a deal by this comming wed I wont trade at all I'll build another reef from it and move the couch behind it. my girlfriend wont be happy because it was going to go down stairs.. I got to move this thing and finish the floor thats under it. I did list this in the classified section but had no offers its still listed there with more pictures check them out if you havent allready my email is lstrawn@verizon.net.

looks like you need other things befor corals, like lighting and flow, work on that befor you get 800 worth of coral and watch them all die
i hope this didnt sound mean, but from the pic (assuming thats how it is today) you shouldnt put more corals in till you get it wworked out properly
AS ALLWAYS I LIKE THE INPUT BUT I HAVE A CUSTOM LIGHT BEING BUILT AS WE SPEAK.... Yes the picture is a little old and as far as the flow in this tank, the returns are two 1200 gph Rios and I have three internal 450's on a wave maker. the the skimmer is a Berlin rated for a 300 gal tank on its own pump also.. my sump is a custom built 45 gal tank with its own lighting system, that I custom built myself. The entire sump/tank I might add, Its growing more grasses than the LFS does in fact I have taken stuff out of the sump twice now and given it away. This set up has been done correctly its been running for three months now, the only thing I lack is the lighting. but like I said I'm working on that as we speak. And thats why you dont see any corals in it.. Its hard when you have to depend on other people to get things done and being a USMC disabled veteran with a broken back I think I have done quite well for myself. I'm not like alot of people you find here wondering why things are dieing in the tank. I've been working with saltwater tanks for 25 plus years now I'm not saying that I know it all, I do alot more reading that the average person does and I learn every day. And Its because of coments like yours that I dont ask alot of questions or post more pictures.. by the way the featherdustingworm in the heading is in one of my tanks.. this isnt my first tank and its not the only tank I have in my house that I have running. I have about 2000 gallons of water that I have made beautiful homes for alot of different fish. Just ask the little fish in the last picture if I know what I'm doing. being that I am disabled I dont get out like everyone else can, so I spend my days with my birds and my fish. under the green blanket in the picture is a unbrella cockatoo. I have a breeding pair of doves/with babies right now two breeding pair of parakeets one set laying on eggs, a breeding pair of cocktiels laying on eggs. and about 8 finchs. this weekend I'll have some lovebirds. I posted here hoping someone would have what I need with out me spending a ungodly amount of money and I could make a deal and they would have a nice tank. NOTHING DIES IN MY HOUSE... and that was just a start of the animals that I have. well to end this without being RUDE. You shouldnt ASSUME anything you should of asked a question, waited for a answer and then given advise..... By the way I didnt see any reference pictures from your tank showing me how it should look.... have a nice day

Horsin1963 I am glad you have said what you said! People should not respond to a thread unless they are interested in buying or answer a question that is asked. People go overboard withot even thinking. They jump to conclusions without even knowing the whole story. If someone is not interested in the thread do not get in and start things. Mind there own business!

Thank you for your kind words.. like I said in the add all I wanted to do was make someone a good "really" good deal its not that often that you find a tank that size and in the condition its in and someone wanting to trade corals for it?? I must be stupid. I just paid $80.00 for the overflow box used.. I am going to give it to the person I wanted $800 for the tank B4 I bought it... I could sell at a another site and get what I want maybe more, have some pick it up and not have to worry about delivering it. then order my stuff here at saltwaterfish.com ... you are right people who have have to mind there own business .. I did a little research B4 I responded to see who was doing the bashing and could of bashed him in return about his green bubble algea growing on his rocks but I didnt, well untill now. you wont find that stuff on mine... welll thanks again for those kind words GOD BLESS YOU

There is always ways to handle something negative if there is something that you feel is out of line PLEASE contact a moderator first there are several of us but there is no way we can read every thread on a daily basis and it slips through.
The board does not allow the negative bashing type threads and we do take action when we see them. If you choose to react negatively to the posts then you are adding to the negativity and can get ugly fast and wont be tolerated from new members or members that have been here for years it doesn't matter.
Please keep it on the positive and be respectful. If there is something that someone sees in pictures that is not suitable for a certain coral type there are going to say "hey I see a problem" I dont think reefmate had a purposely bashing type responce The easiest and best way to get away from this type of misunderstanding is when posting looking for specific coral types add your tank setup description to the post. Alot of hobbiest now adays *me included* will make sure that the person I am trading or selling to has the right conditions for the corals so they have the best survival chance.

To start off with you know what happens when people assume things... My tank looks pretty much the same now as what it did in the picture except for a few more powerheads and alot more coralin algae, but thats none of your concern... my flow rate has nothing to do with me wanting to trade a tank for corals. Besides you cant tell what my flow rate is in my tank by looking at a picture some things you dont want blown around In the tank anyway. The picture represents the fact that I have a bare tank with no corals, and reguardless of what pictures I post or what anyone post you need to keep your thoughts to yourself, I didnt ask for your advise dont give it.. period.. I'm not the one who started this you did I didnt lash out at anything. Second.. You dont have a clue of what "post war life" is like. or what I gave up, if you did you wouldnt be making comments like that either. I dare you to go to a VA hospital and make a comment like that.. Its because of people like me that your able to do what your doing right now. and as far as I'm concerned you need not reply to anything I have to say because your making a @#$ out of yourself im not doing it your doing it to yourself.. Third.. I am the one who is sorry... sorry for bashing your rock that your to lazy to post a picture of. If it was worth $2.00 a pound and your really wanted to get rid of it you should of posted a picture of it. and I would not of been able to talk about the bubble algae on it like whats on the other pictures you have posted. you dont need to resize it try it you will be suprised on how big a picture that can be loaded to this site and I sell rock that I make to the LFS for $4.00 a lb so if its worth anything at all you shouldnt have a problem getting rid of it. providing its clean... I guess you know now how it feels when someone says something they shouldnt have said to begin with

Thank you for your responce I wish I would of read it B4 I typed what I just did I'm tired all ready of people putting there 2cents in where it dont belong... People shouldnt give advise unless its asked for period.... I guess I'll just wait a few more days so I can PM people with pictures of what I have and what I need... I dont know why it has to be that way I dont know why we just cant all get along....

People adding their 2 cents in has helped many people see things they normally wouldnt have. I do the same thing when I read a post if I see something or something comes to mind I am going to bring it up and its up to the original poster to either act on what is said or ingnore it. The main thing is that it was brought up. The board is a community of people helping each other out. If you saw something wrong with your neighbors house would you go and tell them what you saw I would. Its the right thing to do. One thing about the board also is that the members arent out to sell you something so their advice or statments are based on good intentions MOST of the time.

Mike I completely understand you and what you have to say and if I would of posted this thread in any other colum I would expect some kind of rude remarks, I read them all the time. One that come to mind is a guy was asking how to stack new rock in his tank for better water flow and to make caves,, Yes his tank and sand was very nasty everyone that replied talked about his nasty sand and nothing about the rocks or how to stack them.. I responded In a polite maner by telling him how to correctly stack the rocks and gave him advise on how to clean his tank, so everything would look nice in the end and not once bashing one of the dirtiest tanks I ever saw... I posted this in a for sale and trade colum, and if he was really concerned that I was going to kill $800.00 dollars of corals. because of my tank set up there is alot of better ways to get the point across than to down rightly be rude to the person. YES YOU ARE RIGHT and I quote you The main thing is that it was brought up
not ony that but how it was done, and where. this is something you guys need to look out for also..... remember I went looking for you.. I would of never, not knowing who I am speaking with, tell someone something like that. Yes if your gutters were falling off your house I would let you know but thats totaly different.. I have many times on this site. given advise but people were looking for it... do you get the point... there is a time and a place for everything.. I try my best to be respectfull and tactfull all the time.. was taught that in the military... I was not asking what should I do to this tank prior to putting that amount of corals in it. and if he was worried about it.. he should of email me, the address is there... he shouldnt of bashed me in front of everyone here making me look like I dont know what I'm doing... I'm going to stop now, either you get my point or you dont thats your call.. AS ALLWAYS GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU

Those last pics you posted are nice what type of camera are you using?
I am using a sony video super steady shot 12X zoom cyber-shot those are stills from a mpeg movie vx video that I shot..It takes quality digital movie pictures I like taking movies of the tank and cutting stills from them...and still pictures also and its so easy to use. I can hook it up to my telescope and take pictures of the moons rock. Been trying to pictures of the spacestation but havent been using it long enough to get the grid lacation dialed in correctly (telescope that is) I found it once but by the time I remembered the camera it was gone. here is another one of my Blennys this one was taken a couple of years back while I was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort SC. I was sad to have to sell this tank.... thank you for your coments... god bless you all
