transfering wetdry and skimmer?

i currently have a pro clear75 wet dry and skimmer on a 44g tank. i realize that i shouldnt use the skimmer when i move to a bigger tank(75g) but can i still use my wetdry and get a new skimmer?

how big of a tank could i get and keep this wet dry? if i add a hob filter can get like 125g eventually?

depends on how much overflow water that sump will hold during a power failure.
