i am about to move and was wondering if i used a trashcan to move my water if it would hurt the water in anyway like poisoning the water.

I did this once for a day to let carpet installers put in new carpet. I used 2 or 3 garbage bags as well for a liner.I also placed all my fish in the garbage container as well. It was a really stressfull day

The only problem I see is lifting them... other than that it should be fine. Just make sure they are clean. You may want to wash them out with vinegar water (no soap).

Used 'em all the time for stuff like that, DIY biotowers, etc. The big rubbermaid one's that you can get the wheels for....just be sure to mark that they are for fish use only!
