I think you want to stay away from treated lumber, especially if you don't use the proper screws, if everything is painted you should be fine with regular lumber. Alot of people here paint with epoxy paint just to be sure. Treated lumber is not necessary, good luck shoot up a drawing and we will have a look.

You know i don't even know how to use a drawing program.. but I am only making it for a 75. I have made one you my old tank which was bigger. it is drilled on the short side so i am making it longer to hide the plumbing. and a few inches wider for the heck of it. But this is the first tank that i have had drilled at the top and not the bottom. Not sure i like that. I got a great deal on the tank 75 dollars could not pass. I am sure i will have a lot of questions for you guys as i try to make my own led lights also. Oh there is no overflow as i would call it just the bulkhead holes. do you guys think i should find a overflow box. the guy i got it from said i don't need it but i might want it for the look not sure.

I think you should have an overflow box it take the water from the surface nicely. Also if you go just with the bulkhead you need something to stop criters from being sucked in or blocking the drain, then you got problems. JMHO I am sure others will chime in.

Ok i am trying to google the part i call an overflow and i don't get what i want. My tank is already drilled but the box part that goes around is not there what would you call it if you were searching for it.

You don't want to use treated lumber regardless of mechanical fastners used. Treated lumber once it dries out will twisted and wreak havoc on your tank. For tank building you want to use regular lumber.....
Your referring to an overflow box.....If you check out Flower's sump build thread there is step by step on how to go about building what your after....HTH

What are you looking to buy or get??? I'm a little confused. Are you looking for an overflow box or led lights?

Sorry didn't mean to confuse. I want to buy a overflow box, not a hang on style which is all i am finding on-line. My tank is drilled already but has no overflow box in it. It is drill at the top on the short side with two 1/12 and one 3/4.

OK....now were cooking with gas!!!!!!!
Do you happen to have a pic of the tank showing where the tank is drilled? What I'm after is the exact measurements of where the holes are already drilled....How far down from the top of the tank? How far from the sides? How close is the 3/4" hole in relation to the (2) 1 1/2" holes?

Just got the pics this morning on my phone....Let me get a chance to take a good look at it, and will get back with you....Kinda looks like the 150 I gave to my buddy a bit ago......Got tired of the tank sitting around empty....I used it as my fuge at 1 point.

Does it look anything like this one? The two 1 1/2" drains are on the side and the 3/4" return is in the middle.
