Treated tank with Copper

Upon a recommendation from my LFS we treated our tank with copper and since we have a crushed coral bottom we have been told that we cannot get a shrimp to clean the tank.
Two questions
1- Is there something that I can get that cleans?
2- Are there any other fish I should not get due to this treatment?
Thanks for your help!

One more thing . . .
We are considering switching to a DSB instead of the CC. If we do this would we be able to get the shrimp?
Thanks again!

with my experience with copper the only way to get to have inverts is to completly drain the tank scrub it down. then you still only have a 50/50 chance that you will ever be able to keep inverts. unless you have a acrylic tank. The reason being that the silicone used to seal glass tanks will hold in the copper and release it back into the tank. you can try taking it down and cleaning it out but go and by a copper test kit to see if the copper is still in the tank before you put any inverts in the tank. There are many alternative methods of treatment other than copper. In my opinion you should never use it. :( And to answer you questions. You can get a lawnmower blenny they do a good job on eating the algae. You can keep most any fish with the use of copper just no inverts like shrimp, snails, crabs, anenome, clams, sorry for all the bad news.
