Ok.... I went up to the live rock place I had mentioned, and it all makes sense, but If this is the way to do it, then why do most of the other people have pumps and sumps and filters ect... I don't get it. Then if you did go that way with the ls & lr it would be a reef tank Right?

You really know alot about this. But I think if I'm gonna ever be able to do this I need to start with a fish only tank first. If I can ever get the fish to live or even get through a cycle. I'm going on a short vacation. Then when I get back I think I need to make a couple of trips to the library. Maybe that will help.
