My tank doesnt have a lot of coraline algea and I just went to my buddies house and he has tons of it in his tank. Does anyone have a trick to get it to start growing faster in my tank. What additives do you use?? or what should I be testing for to see if my tank is low in something??

Be sure your calcium level is good. This is important for the growth of coralline. Maybe your buddy can give you coralline scrapeings from his tank. The spores would spread coralline growth in your tank. :D

calcium levels are good just never really had luck growing coraline. Maybe I will get some from my buddy and cruch it up to release the spores and see what happens. I only supplement B-ionic and wasnt sure if another type of supplement would help.

Patience and a balanced tank and patience.
Once I quit screwing around with my tank and let it go on auto pilot things really started to happen. Inverts dormate for year+ (i'm guessing) started popping up (including small jellyfish), coraline went nuts, fish quit dying and so on. Dosed with a multi-mineral supplement and phytoplankton once a week sometimes a bit less.
