What the... theres no screw to unscrew the fans! it seems like it was just superglued on! Any ideas? the fan wont spin fast. I tried compress air.. nothing. WD-40? will the heat on the bulb screw it up? i am open to suggestions that do not involve me getting a new lighting system.

call JBJ and ask about a replacement assy. Any warr options. You should use fans to keep the heat out of the tank.

if you dont want to keep em under warranty you could carefully cut them out with a dremel.

No need to cut/dremel. They are attached to posts. I had this unit so there is no guessing. If you take a flat screwdriver, you can pry them off their posts. Radio shack sells the replacemt fans for $9.99 each. All you need to do is snip the wires and solder the new one on.

oh, they also blow air out so you may want to reverse that and blow are in, this will make the fans last longer as the salt builds up on the motors.
