I have a a trigger fish humu humu. He spits his food out and won't sallow. Tried krill, shrimp, mysis shrimp, and blood worms. Whats his problem? Do i need garlic guard?
i would say he's definitely opening and closing his mouth. The shrimp is fresh and tastes good, mysis and rest of the frozen food came in a couple days ago from the pet store. It's foiled sealed and rest of the fish love it.
It's like he puts it in his mouth and says nah....and spits it out. I just mushed up some fresh garlic cloved and mixed little mysis shrimp is in and tried a bit..Same thing eats it and spit it out.
Also he's a juveline and about 3 to 4 inches long.
i think he was eating mysis shrimp fine a week ago when i got him but after 2 3 days started spitting his food out....almost like he cant sallow. Could he eat pelleted food before?
Are you sure he's not getting any?Mine actually does this too. After watching him i noticed he is just a pig and takes such big mouthfuls he has to spit some out. Then he will chase down some more and does it all over again.
he starting to slim down. That's what i first thought. He even will take in flakes and them spitting them out. I just gave him a rosey red. I know it's not a great thing but he's had in his mouth for 4 minutes spitting and chewing. Looks like he's trying hard to sallow. It wasn't that big and he's not small fish. It's almost like he can't sallow. Weird and annoying
i wish he would eat half or any. Never had a fish who would take it in his mouth and spit everything out. I had a lionfish for a long time that was hard to start feed But once he ate he ate. He gave up on the rosey red and spit it out. I just siphoned all the left over food ate. Ugh.
wish he would sallow but nothing. even rosey red he chewed up to nothing and spit it only. I order some garlic guard should be here tomorrow. I used that on lionfish with great success.
