Trigger Happy

Right now I have a small picasso trigger, a small bursa trigger and a medium niger trigger. Would it be ok for me to add an undulate trigger? If not what other type of trigger would you suggest?

I wouldn't add an undulate, they are one of the most aggressive triggers. Usually people keep them in species only tanks. If your planning on putting him in the 120, consider all of your smaller fish.... LUNCH... :D

IMO Once all those trigger grow to size your tank is going to be full, I would not all a nother trigger,

triggers and sharks dont really mix. you now have 3 with you shark. dont you think that adding one of the meanest triggers to your tank is going to cause undue stress to all your fish especially the shark. correct me if im wrong but didnt u originally start out just wanting a shark tank?. just seems like your priorities have changed. reaserch will pay off if you do it properly. seems like to me you have just gone overboard with your fish choices. i understand you like aggresive fish but why not go with a panther grouper(really aggresive but not towards your shark) or something more like that so your not upset when something dies or kills your other "prized possesions". just my two cents. hth mr hanky

The reason I didn’t go with a panther is because believe it or not I did my homework and found out that they will eat anything smaller than them and I have about 6 damsels in there (some reason I don’t have a volitan.) This post was part of my research and I wasn’t going to go out and get one till I had don’t some research on them.

i guess your right, a panther will eat anything it can get in its mouth. but still triggers and sharks are an accident waiting to happen. just dont want to see ya loose anything.

Maybe you could try a small clown or bluelined i think those are the 2 nicest of the trigger fish but there rather exspensive and also are rather agressive.

ya the clowns kick ass but they are just a little out of my price range and like you said they are rather aggressive.

personally my experience with triggers and sharks are that keep the mellow onces with them, like blue jaw, niger, pink tailed, black, crosshatch, those triggers are less tempermental and should be better tank mates for your shark. I would not go with an undulate or a blue line those fish might start off relaxed but eventually will go nuts, The clown trigger, if added last and happen to get a great one you can put one in with the shark but thats still pretty iffy. Choose wisely or your triggers will start to snack on your shark. Also Panther groupers are awesome, I apsolutely love mine, he's 15in and great, what a personality.
