I've never seen anything like this. One of my toadstools didn't extend its polyps today and tonight I can see the polyps beneath the skin. In the middle of the shroom, it looks like the skin is stretched real tight and it's clear. I can see a whole bunch of the extended polyps beneath the skins surface as if it were ingrown hairs.
Has anyone ever seen this? Is this what happens if one becomes infected?:notsure:

Never mind, they all just busted through as if it was a thick slime coat. It's only half peeled off right now. If it doesn't come all the way off on its own, I'll direct more flow over it.

That's normal toadstool growth. They shed that thin film like layer of skin.

they do this about every three weeks or so, I added to much iodine one time and it "shed" everyday for three or four weeks. If it happen occasionally its normal growth, if not watch any added iodine
