i saw a pair of a false per and a true perc. the true perc was larger and the flase was smaller. both were brought in from a customer for store credit so they were pre owned. they swam together and the guy sed they were a pair. i asked them to hold it for me till i see whats up. is it even possible for a tru and false to pair up? are they even capable of breeding as hybrids?
but for me to have percs i have to get rid of my tomato clowns for which i have had since i started this hobby. so i have a little realtionship with the lil suckers so its hard for me to say good bye but then agen i really want the percs. i keep having a thought of when i give it to the lfs some guy is gonna buy it abuse the fish and let it die. ahhh what would u guys do!!!

Ha its funny you asked this, I was just about to post asking the same question. I had bought a True Perc about a month ago. He is going into the DT on saturday. :cheer: However my lfs no longer has any true percs for sale. I was also wondering of a true perc could be paired with a false perc? Can anybody chime in on this?

First off, it's not wise to mix clownfish species in same tank.
True Percula Clownfish & False Clownfish (aka : Ocellaris Clownfish) are 2 different species and should not be put into same tank.

You shouldn't put 2 different species of clowns together, However, if they grew up together and land seem to ike eachother it might work.
Are you sure one is a false perc?

It's not common for the two species to bond but it does happen. The caution against putting them together is wise because it usially ends in the death of the Percula.
I have seen Percula and Ocellaris mate. The offspring are very interesting but they are sterile.
