Trumpet coral

Ive been looking around for corals to buy and i really want to buy a candycane coral. This website said that its care level is moderate. Some other places said it was a beginner coral. Could I keep even if i was a beginner.

The first coral I ever bought was a candy cane and I still own it. But your topic name is trumpet coral. There is a difference.
What's your lighting and parameters look like?

candycane and trumpet corals r very similar. imo, lps shouldnt be beginners corals. most lps hv similar requirements as sps, but just not as much light. if ur tank is fairly new, maybe try some zoas or leather and see how they do first.

I don't believe that LPS is as hard to keep as SPS in any way shape or form.
If I had it to do all over again, I may have started with some generic polyps, etc. IMO, candy cane corals are not the difficult at all. I actually have frags of my original piece in all my tanks. Trumpets are far more difficult than candy canes, especially a good quality PINK trumpet.
I've abused my candy cane, more than I'll ever admit, and it's never had an issue. I lost one head when a majano decided to grow in the middle of the colony, but after awhile, the head grew back. I do not keep it under intense light. It's at the bottom of my tank w/ MH and the middle with PC and both do fine. I does need moderate flow.
Should you start with candy cane? Probably not, but, I did
