here is my setup take a look of the pics and see if you would make any changes, the clowns are in the 125 2 year reef tank the same 10 gallons are in another tank for the fry and another 10 gallon for live rotifers.. im in the process of learning and getting the right equipment for making greenwater to feed the rotifers...i have enough green water to feed them for a week or so im planning on getting instant algae and algae dics this week to make green water and im using the book clownfishes as my guide.. take a look at the pics and let me know if its ok...there is one pic of the clowns in a 10 as they went through QT before i moved them to the 125 reef as i was instructed from 1 person...in the 10 gallon there was nothing but the broadstock..ow they are in a 125 reef with 200 inverts i cant imagine how the eggs eont be a tasty meal in the night for any of my 200 hermit crabs sally light foots nas snails and turbo snails..let alone the other 12 fishes.anyway take a look and let me know if i got a chance.. these are 5 year old clowns and proven breeders.

so far this is very wierd...i bought 2 egg layers they are 6 years old and layed thousands of eggs...i put them in the 10 gallon and after some feedback from members decided to put them in a more roomy environment the pros was its a 125 reef with a nice huge roomy anemone. the cons are theres so much going on in there who knows if they would breed ...with 300 inverts 120 corals and 14 fish...i removed my clowns that have been in the 125 reef and never layed an egg which are only about 18 months old and much much smaller than the other clowns...to the 10 gallon tank with nothing in it but them...they layed at least 1000 eggs in 1 week.. i was not looking at that tank and waiting for the proven egg layers to breed that the eggs hatched and i couoldn't care for them and they all died. or were bad eggs or just didint hatch...now i have 2 egg laying pairs...the smaller ocalleris female about 1 3/4 inches in the 10 gallon with the male 1 1/4 inches. and in the 125 the proven egg layers that haven't layed an egg in 3 weeks.. in the 125 female also ocalellris almost 3 inches and male 2 1/4..so go figure lol

well i am a bit confused with your post so help me out a bit
do you have eggs now or not? once your clowns start to lay they will do so on a very regular basis as long as they are not moved or messed with.
the large tank is not the best place for the fish to breed in if there is alot of activity. dont get me wrong they can and many do but if that is your goal it is not an ideal place

yes there are thosands of eggs all over the place in a 10 gallon on the glass wall sb rocks ceramic tile...the small flow from the hob filter must have moved them they hatched and i think are dead because i was keeping an eye for the proven breeders in the reef tank when i moved the other clowns that were a pair they mated right away i just was not ready..the ones that hatched are like the size of a thubnail and they just move on the glass theylook like thin small hairs that move...my rotifer tabnk crashed and i dont know what to feed them.. and they are in the same tank with the broadstock..so i dunno it was my first time i guess it will take me a few times to get it right.
