I was wondering if a tube amonme will wander like a a regular one? I'd like a anemone but I don't want them wondering around stinging everything. Will a tube stay where I put it? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

No, not really. They aren't actuall anemones and don't attach at the base and move around on the rocks like a true anemone would. However, the tube anemones can move under the sand - I've had one that made about 5 different openings for his tube and he would pop up in different places on different days. They can also come out of their tubes and float around the tank. This is usually a sign of distress and can be a risky time for other inhabitants. Odds are, though, that they'll pretty much stay in place. They're certainly less risky than true anemones - I currently have 7 of them in my reef.

I've got two lavender tube anemones, and both of mine desided to move, one got caught in the intake of one powerhead, thought he was done for, pulled him out and left him on the bottom, the next morning I looked and he found him a spot and planted his foot after approx. 1 week I noticed new growth,at about a month he is prettier and larger than he was before, and been in that same spot ever since the other had moved under a liverock ledge and hasn't moved from there,But both are doing very well.
