Hey guys! Found only one of these little critters growing on a piece of live rock that's been in the tank for 3 months.

I'm having trouble finding online the difference between a relatively beneficial or harmless tube worm and the vermetid snail which I hear can become quite a pest.

This worm is white, about 7-8mm in length and with one or maybe two tiny white tentacles about 1mm long coming out the top. I think this has grown on the rock from scratch as it wasn't there when added. It is white not red.

Thus am I correct in saying it's NOT a vermetid snail, and as long as I don't overfeed I don't need to worry about it?

Looks like a vermited snail bud. If it's a new tube that would explain the light/white color.

I wouldn't freak out over a handful of them. Hundreds, yes. A few here and there, no.
