Its been a long time since I posted pictures of my 55gal. Since July, I have upgraded to 440 watts of VHO from 260 watts of PCs. Here are some pictures...

I have 440watts of VHOs only...no other type of lighting.
All my hard corals started as frags in my tank. I have my acros and montis since last spring. I upgraded lighting because the tricolors turned brown. A month after adding VHOs, they returned to there normal colors. Two of the tricolor frags were two inch branch. The other can from a one inch branch I have three tricolor acros in the trank.

I love the VHOs. I wish I never got the PCs and just spent the money for VHOs in the beginning. I get a heck of a lot better coloring in my corals. Only down side is the the mushrooms didn't respond well. They shrunk in size and migrated to the shady sides of the rocks.

Edited for bad use of words...I was tired.

Beautiful looking corals. Its nice to see a tank with corals so colorful from a tank with VHO only. Not the recommended way to go but you show that the results can be quite similar to that of mh systems. Great pics

I would not doubt if it was around 100 pounds. I lost track. I had to slowly build up the rock structure in the tank. As Mike mentioned (Motohead), I am a college student (Graduate in the spring), so I can't afford much at one time.
I am going to move from a 55gal to 75gal by this summer. I want bigger, but I can't afford bigger at this time and I live in a appartment so space is limited.
