Tufa Rock Question.

I read that Tufa Rock should not be put in a saltwater aquarium. I have some in mine (two stones), should I take it out? Also, someone told me that it will break down with the saltwater and cause problems for the fish... Is this true

I have been told that tufa is safe :notsure: I have some tufa that has been in my tank for 6 months and so far, no problems.

I thought people suggested using tufa rock as base rock, because of its being so pourous. I don't think it's not safe.

I have used it many times, with no problem, same with lace rock.

I also used Tufa for my base rock... I think I read somewhere that it's the lava rock you want to be cautious about, since it's at a higher risk of containing trace metals..
