Give it a couple weeks to acclimate before raising the foam because of now it appears to be at the right height. Did it com with a lid for your skimmer cup?

I wouldn't raise it at all. its fine where its at. the foam will spill over in time. the foam head looks good actually. micro bubbles should subside after break in (anywhere from now to a week or so if it hasn't happened already).

Yes, it did come with a lid. I just took it off to get a good look at the skimate. I'm still having a awful time with the microbubbles. It makes my tank look awful. I'm not to happy with the snowstorm of bubbles in my display tank.

The skimmer stopped working this morning. I pulled it out of the sump, drained the water out of it, put it back and it works for 10-15 seconds and the pump stops. I called Tunze this morning and they are sending a replacement. Not to happy.

tunze is the absolute best reef products out there and there customer service is even better. they will fix any problem u have and with skimmers they can take a day or up to a month to work properly

tunze is not even in the top ten when it comes to build quality. they are actually quiet bad. there products work well but ALL are flimpsy and well below par build quality in their price range. they have great designs and then build them seemingly as cheaply as possible yet charge premium prices. You cant beat the DOC series for space utilization and quietness. Performance is good too (nothing special in their price range though), the actual pumps are sicce like everybody else is using but its about the flimsiest $370 skimmer you'll ever come across. if you have limited space though its about the only good performing choice.

Just a thought but isn't the water line supose to be about a inch or so from the top od the box part? The one I am looking at is supose to be about compleatly submurged? that one only looks like it is half way up with water in the video?
