Tunze vs. MaxiJet mod...

Hey all,
So here's my deal... I had an experienced reefer come over to look at my tank and give his thoughts to me, and his immediate concern was extreme lack of water movement. He told me that I really needed to invest in two tunzes or nanostreams at opposite ends of the tank to get the water movin' and groovin. That's all well and good, but I can't afford the $500-$800 that they will cost.
So I remembered the whole maxijet mod debate and how it was supposed to be the cheap-skate's tunze...
Any thoughts on that? I have several 1200's laying around, and I found the kits here:
http://www.***********.com/ps_ViewIt...s~vendor~.html
and here:
http://www.twopartsolution.com/index...roducts_id=379 for under $20...
Think these will work? Any thoughts/experiences with them? I know that we've discussed them on this board before, but I don't think that we ever had a resolution of if they were cool, or if they were lame.

Hmmm...
The Koralia says it's like 1200 gph, I've seen it advertised that the MJmod goes up to 1600gph. Any thoughts out there?

I really like the koralias, nice wide flow pattern instaed of a hard jet stream from the maxi mods.

you can no longer buy maxi-mods. they aren't sold anymore. however, you can buy sureflow mods, eco mods, or gulf stream II maxijet kits. all are about the same in price. both the sureflow and eco mods will producs about 1500-1600 gph. the gs II can put out upto 2500 gph. so depending on your needs.........you just need to make a decision.
i have both a maxijet mod on a 900, and 2 kor. 4's. for the price, especially if you already have the mj's, you can't beat any of the kits....jmo
