tunze wavebox

ok so i plan on buying a unze wave box
i have a 150 gal tank with a center overflow built in.
the distance from the top of the glass on the tank to the part where water flows into the overflow.
im worrried that if i buy a wave box the water will either overflow out of the tank b/c in order to overflow water the from my display tank to my sump the water needs to be a certain height, but with a wave box i need a few inches for clerance.
so question #1 is - can the height of the wave from the wavebox be adjusted?
also dose the lever of the sump fluctuate (is the ovorflow constant)?

i am not an expert and not sure if this would work but i would cut the grooves deeper on the overflow so when the wavemaker is on the grooves will still be under water.

kinda the answer i was looking for.
so ill be smart to do this before i set my tank up.

I have been using a wavebox for a while now, you adjust the wavebox wave per your tank. No need to cut grooves deeper. You can if you need to slow down the flow from the return. I had mine in a 180 with corner overflow with no problem with noise. I now have it in a larger tank with a center overflow, again not noise problems.
