Tunzi skimmer question

I have a Tunzi skimmer and for some reason I can not figure out which way to turn the blue knob to make it get more air to bubble more. I keep turning it left and right and it's just dumb. I can't figure it out, help.

How long have you had the skimmer running? If you shrew it all the way in that lets in the least amount of air which would produce a dry skimmate. The more you have it open the more wet the skimmate will be. If its a new skimmer it will have a break in period. Hope this helps.

I guess that is my main question. which way closes it all the way and which way opens it up more? (clockwise or counterclockwise)

If you turn it one way (all the way and it still has bubbles, turn it the other way). Start with no bubbles then turn them on, until you get a foam entering the collection cup.
If you can't stop the bubbles you have an air leak in valve or hose.
