Turboflotor 1000 Question

I just got my new Turboflotor 1000 in the mail. It is an in-sump skimmer. The problem is that the base of the thing is made of hollow plastic, and is very buoyant. It is so buoyant that it cannot stand inside water without the base floating upwards and knocking the thing over. The instructions for the thing are terrible, can anyone help me out? Thanks

did u get it up and running?? how well does it work compared to maybe a euro reef? im thinkin about getting a turboflotor, or i might just wait longer and save for a euroreef

They do float until full of water.
I have had one for a few years, and am happy with it...but then again it is the only one I have owned, so I have nothing to compare it to.
