turbos won't last

Hi guys, long time reader first post.
I have a 29 semi-reef (some zoa frags) planning on getting some mushrooms later.
fluval 404
cpr bak pac skimmer
the question is: why won't my mex turbo snails last? I have had 3 turbos die in the past 3 months but everything else is fine 4 margerita snails are fine, about 8 astrea snails and about 15 blue legg, 4 red leg hermits, a coral banded shrimp and a false perc all active and seemingly happy.
The mexicans all died within 2 weeks of putting them in all the rest have been in the tank for a long time with no casualties (maybe a year or so)
all the water tests show normal
s.g. is 1.023
temp about 78-80
is it possible to get 3 bum turbos from the LFS??
I may be the only one not using RO water on the forum
I hope somone can shed some light on this, but I think I just might give up on the mex turbos
Thanks, Heath

I have gone through 6 total mexican turbos and I asked the same question. The best answer I got was that mexican turbos are used to cooler water temps and that is why a lot of them die.

Well at least I'm not the only one. Most of the other stock came from the same LFS and they have the same s.g. i didn't check their temp though.
Thanks

well if im thinking of the same thing i heard that when they get on the glass and fall on the backs the drown from not being turned over and ive also heard that your nitrates and anenmie(spell check for both) should be zero. thats what i was told becuase i bought 6 and i only have 1 still living....

I never heard about the drowning, but the nitrates, nitrites and amonia are all 0 or dern close. Thanks, Heath
