That's probably your problem. Whenever you change lights you need to acclimate your tank to them. It is very common for people to have hair algae outbreaks whenever they upgrade their lighting...
Reduce your lighting to just a few hours per day (4 or so). Let it go like this for several days until the algae starts to go away. I would also invest in a good cleanup crew first so that they can be ready to eat it as it dies off.
Slowly over the course of a few weeks, add an hour per day until you start to see the algae come back. Then back it off an hour and you should be good. The cleanup crew will kill it off and you shouldn't have a problem with it again (hopefully).
One thing you don't want to do is brush it off in the tank. Brushing it and trying to remove it manually just releases millions of spores in the tank which only spreads it. It's better to either have a cleanup crew which can handle it or to remove the rocks and clean them outside the tank.
