Turning dead rock to live rock?

I was wondering if is possible like if i were to do a water change and use the water that i will take out and have that in a bucket with heater, power pump, and filter. Will this help turn the dead rock into a live rock? Also after my cycle hmm broke down? or whatever happened. Now the water parameter are stable.
0 ammonia
0 nitrites
20 nitrate.
I am planning to do another watch change soon.
Currently have two hermit crab and a peppermint shrimp. The hermit crab killed my snails ._. well they took their shells. ._. the lfs said they shouldn't grow so i shouldn't worry about them growing and taking other snail's shell. ._. .... My question is... will i be able add two fish at the same time? Will that cause a bio over load? Also i have sorta brown stain that is coming to the display screen.

I believe there are a lot of good books on the resurrection of live rock I personally would start there. Actually there will most likely be a lot of good general info
