Turning inside out?

I don't really know how to describe it any better than that. Occasionally when they close, instead of closing normally, they close downward instead of upward.
Usually, they correct themselves within a day or so, but I've got one that won't seem to "right" itself. I've tried gently to roll it back up, but I'm afraid to damage the head. Now it cant properly close when a food particle flows by.
This happen to anyone else? Any suggestions?

Yea mine do this when they get anything that isn't food mainly sand. Once sand falls out they go back to normal

I didn't look like anything was on it, but I'll hit it with the turkey baster tonight to see if anything changes.
