turtle w/ fungus

I realize that a painted turtle is not saltwater, however, I have become the new owner of a very neglected painted turtle. The little guy has some king of white fungal stuff, almost like ick, covering his toes, shell, etc.
Would it be safe to use neosporin on him?

My turtle had something like that, and a growth on his face when I got him. I went to a lps and got something for infections or something. I dont remeber the name, but will try and find out. It worked wonders for him. He is now happy and healthy.

Let my try and find the name if the stuff.
EDIT: Zoo Med Repti Turtle Sulfa Dip That is what I used along with vitamins to help him back to full health. Hope that helps.

You should do a google search for a reptile forum that perhaps specializes in turtles. They are out there, just like fish forum are.
