Two Anemones

I just added two anemones in my tank (20 gallon) on the sand bottom - one is a small condi and the other a yellow long tenacle with an anemone crab living in it. The condi is moving toward the other - will they harm each other if they get too close? I understand it will take them some time and movement to choose their place.

Yes, two anemones of different species can sting and kill each other. I usually do not recommend two different anemones in the same tank, especially as small as a 20g.

It's my understanding that mixing species of anemone's is not recommended, especially in close quarters.Same species seem not to recognize each other as a threat.A good LFS I shop at keeps same species displays, never noticed it the other way around.
I have 2 bubble-tips in a 55g reef.They hang out together,touching all the time.Happy as...well...Clams. :happyfish
