Two New Anemones:)

I have a 29 gallon tank that I am hoping to make into a home for two Clarki's. A friend gave me a small green bubbletip anemone, and I bought a purpleish brown colored bubbletip from a guy that was breaking his tank apart ($25.00). I believe they are both healthy as they are eating well and have not moved since I placed them in the tank a week ago. I'm including pics so you can tell me if you think they look healthy........the larger darker one is about 5 inches across when open. Is this large enough for 2 small Clarki's? Is the darker anemone a form of rose anemone?
Thanks,

To my knowledge it's not been dyed......I got it from a person who has his own store. He purchased it as a "purple" bubbletip from his supplier. It was in his personal tank for over a year. Don't dyed corals/anemones lose there color and revert back to normal/ (or die) after a short time? I know dyed fish do.......

I've been told that if they are of the same species......both bubbletip that I'll be okay. Even a mix of rose and green get along. I've also been told that to mix different anemones is when you get in trouble from chemical warfare.......hopefully this info is right:)

Not true. 2 BTA's will be fine in the same tank.

i'm wondering from other looking at this post, is her lighting fixture good enough for anemones? everyone tell me that i should go with MH and i have a 26 gal.

Lights should be fine from what I've read and been told. Bubbletips are lower light anemones. In fact they shy away from MH. Joyce Wilkerson's book says most do well from 3.5 to 4.3 watts/gallon. I have a little over 4.......so far they are happy and eating well. They have not moved since adding them to the aquarium......hopefully another good sign.

It is, but it doesn't have any bubbles:( I guess some do and some don't......there is some confusion as to why this is. Some say it is light related. Others say the ones who are hosting clownfish are more likely to have bubbles......who knows for sure?

If you are wanting to keep anything but a bubble tip anemone you are probably going to need metal halide lighting........let that be the deciding factor:)

Hi Fishlovr, I noticed how you rocks have a lot of good colorful growth on them. My question is I have 15 lbs of LR in my 12 gallon, but most of the rock is pretty bare as far as colorful growth, is there anyway to help add that growth? I have Special Blend that I add every other week, but I don't really see a drastic change. My tank is 2 months old now, I have 1 per clown and 1 firefish. I wanna add a carpet anemone, but I dont know where to start. :help: TY
