Your tank is realively new right now at 2 months. Coraline algae doesn't usually take off until around 4 months......you usually deal with the nuisance algae's in the first few months......then coraline starts to grow I use B-Ionic daily in all of my tanks and have good luck with coraline. I also have PC lighting which coraline seems to love.......As for a carpet anemone a tank should be well established in my opinion......at a minimum 6 months old. As far as I know they require metal halide lighting and a larger tank than 12 gallons......at least for long term. I would investigate thoroughly and be patient. Nothing good ever happens fast in this hobby.......HTH
ps.....it might help to add a small piece of coraline covered rock to seed what you have
