Two questions about ordering from SWF

If you see dead fish at your LFS I personally would find a new one. My LFS quarantines their fish before they display them to the public. However when you have to pay $70 for a bubble tip anemone at the lfs, and you can get a fish and an anemone from SWF for the same amount of money its a no brainer. The only drawback is that you can't see what you are buying, no weekend delivery, and you have to pay a minimum to get a credit if a creature dies. Plus is it really free shipping if you have to pay a processing fee and a fuel charge? But you still get more for your money here, so my next order will be with them. You can't beat the specials they have sometimes.

The only thing that I see about the $79 min. is that they still charge a $9.99 handling fee plus a $9.99 fuel surcharge so there is no point in having a min if you charge extra anyway....

I'm jealous of your local fish stores... mine will sell fish right out of the shipping container...

That still doesn't fully cover shipping prices...

There is a rival site, that charges $28 for overnight service on orders from
$60-$100. The processing fee and fuel charge pretty much covers the shipping. That other place rubbed me the wrong way so I will never order from them again.

Processing fees and the other fee are not what it would cost to ship these items through FedEx overnight.
Overnight for FreEx is at least 30 then the fact that the box weight adds more they are paying alot more for shipping that we do for the fees.
I still will never buy from a LFS until I find one I can depend on for fish.
No one in SWF that I know of right now will guarantee their Tropical fish after you take it out of the store. It says it on the receipt.

One of the reasons I have yet to order from SWF is the minimum order. I have ordered from other places where i spent 24.99 for overnight ship and dont have a minimum order - which ends up cheaper then the LFS usually.
I have a 25 gallon. It is hard to always spend 79$ worth because I cant put anything and everything in my tank.

Exactly. Sadly the friend who had a SW tank sold the entire setup. I was so mad he had it so nice and I wanted it but didnt have the 1200 he wanted for the 100lbs LR and al the fish and sump/fuge and all.
It was a NICE huge reef tank at least 150+ Gallons.

This is what I was talking about on my last post. A rival site charges $28 for overnight shipping on orders between $60-$100 so the fees that get charged on this site almost covers the shipping. You gain $8 here???????

It depends on your location and the weight of ther package. Look it up as a quote on FedEx.
I guarantee you it would cost way more that the 18 for fees.
The fuel fee is because gas cost so damn much right now.

That's about what, 25% more?
That adds up pretty quickly to a company that is shipping thousands of orders.
Plus, of course, other competitors don't support the forum here
I've learned enough from this site to pay them far more for every order then I'm charged.

That is my reasoning. Without this site, I would be lost. Plus I have had problems with drygood ordering from other sites. Things SWF didn't sell.
